Ads Connectors
Meta Ads and LinkedIn are both filed under Ads and neither does what the category suggests. What each one actually reads and writes.
Two connectors sit in the Ads category. Neither is a two-way ads integration, and one of them is not an ads connector at all.
Meta Ads
"Connect your Meta Ads account to view insights of your active ad campaigns."
OAuth from the Integrations screen. What it gives you is read-only: insights from campaigns that are already running, inside Surface, so ad performance sits next to the leads it produced.
It is not the Conversions API. Surface does not send conversion events back to Meta through this connector. If you want Meta to know a lead converted, that is a browser-side event, and it is documented separately: Meta Ads tracking.
"Sync your LinkedIn lead gen forms and their leads into Surface as forms and responses."
Despite the category, this has nothing to do with ad reporting. It is a Lead Gen Form sync: your LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms appear in Surface as forms, and the leads they collect appear as responses, so LinkedIn leads land in the same Lead Data Layer as everything else and go through the same agents, scoring and routing.
The connector is called LinkedIn, not "LinkedIn Ads". Anywhere you still see it named LinkedIn Ads, that name is wrong, and it has misled people into expecting ad spend reporting that this connector does not provide.
It manages its own connection state rather than going through the shared OAuth hook, so its card behaves slightly differently from the CRM cards. Connecting is still one click.
Google Ads Is Not Here
There is no Google Ads connector. You fire conversion events into Google Ads from the browser instead, which is a different mechanism with different setup: Google Ads tracking.
Where the Ad Money Question Actually Gets Answered
Neither connector reports revenue. Surface's conversion funnel stops at meetings booked, which is deliberate: it measures what Surface can observe. Attribution past that point belongs in your CRM, or in DreamData.
